This is a 3-part series of braid basic tutorials:
Tale of Two Strands: Rope braid and Fishtail braid

Hey girl!

As part of the basic braid tutorial series, today, you will learn how to do two special braids that is not just charming in style but also easy to do. To those who doesn't know how to do it, this 2 hairstyles looks intricately done but I tell you for sure, you could achieve a chic hairstyle with just a little of your time.

Fishtail braid. This hairstyle gives an impressive impact in the hairinspiration some years ago but is still making it up to now. I wasn't lucky enough to learn this hairstyle that early and I guess by that time I am still struggling with my hate and love relationship with my hair. All I know everytime I see this on somebody's hair, it always looks well done and impressive. And now that I knew how to do this on my own, I could say that not all pretty hairstyles is hard to do. You just need a little more time for yourself. Let's prettify!

Step 1. Divide your hair into 2-strands.

Step 2. We will start from the strand nearest you, we marked it as strand #1. Get a little hair (the thinner the hair you'll get, the more finer your fishtail will be, so it's up to you) on the side of that strand and incorporate it on the #2 strand.

Step 3. Now, get some hair on the #2 strand just like what you did on the #1 strand and incorporate it with the #1 strand.

Step 4. Do the same thing all the way down your hair. Get some pieces along side of each strand of the hair and cross it to one another. As you go along, you will see the fishtail in the making.

Rope braid. If the fishtail is easy for you, this one should be more easier. If you are struggling in doing your hairstyle because it is too hard for you, try the rope braid. This is definitely a cute and cool hairstyle to try on. More twist, more fun! Rope braid on! Let's do this.

Step 1. Divide your hair into 2-strands.

Step 2. Twist both strands AWAY from you.

Step 3. While twisting, cross both strands with each other. The farthest strand from you OVER the nearest strand.

Step 4. Do this all the way down your hair.

That's it! I hope you learned something today. If you have questions or steps that are a bit confusing for you, you can always ask me. I'm just a comment away. There's a more tutorials to follow.

Let's talk again on my next blog.
