Hey girl!

You might wonder why what causes your sudden breakouts, although, there are tons of reasons to blame there are some bad beauty habits that you might not know you are doing that causes your breakouts. Find out some and break it before it breaks you.

Dirty pillowcases. Sleeping in your filthy pillowcases that hasn't been change for weeks might be the cause of unexpected breakout. You might wonder you wake up one morning with bumps on your face  starting to be pimples in the making. Despite your meticulous night skincare routine, you don't know why you get that unwanted breakout. Stress and Lack of sleep. Yeah right, we can't run away with all the stress we get in a daily basis and we can't stop having movie marathons late night. So, what do we do? It doesn't mean that  one stressor is equals to one pimple/breakout and if that so, we don't have a place on our face to spare anymore. It's on how we handle those stressors and resolve or throw them away one by one. What makes us more stressed is that we are piling up and getting all these stressors in our life and in the long run, it becomes a burden and then, there are more stressors coming along the way which consumes us. You know how heavy it is to take it as a burden. How about lack of sleep? Some people are not privilege to have a good night sleep due to the nature of work but as much as you have time to have that beauty rest, take it. It is always best to wake up energized and refreshed every morning. Peace in mind and quality rest is what you need for a healthy skin.

Uncleaned make-up brushes. This is not a secret anymore unless you forgot it or too lazy to clean your make-up brushes. If you are using make-up almost on a daily basis, no doubt that your are using your make-up brushes too. So, if that's the case, then you have to schedule a clean up day at least once a week to clean up your brushes. Imagine those loads of bacteria you are transferring from your make-up to your face by means of those uncleaned make-up brushes. If your goal is to enhance and beautify using your make-up then, do not be lazy to sanitize. At the end of the day, your skin will benefit with all your efforts.

Expired beauty products. Do you know that your make-up have expiration too? Or you are too sentimental like me that you want to hold on to your make-up product as long as there is still a spare to use? I've learned my lesson and learn to let go my expired make-up babies. I've said it all here at Make-up Expiration Guide and you might want to read more about it on the link given.

Sleeping with make-up on. Are you guilty of this? Oh, ooh! I think I did it a couple of times only because I'm too tired (as in) that even if, I am fully aware that I should be getting my make-up off first, my body and eyes can't do it anymore. So, everybody has at least a one time experience on sleeping with make-up on? Well, that's fine. I have slept on it and nothing (thankfully) happened that causes me to breakout. But take note, if you will continue doing it and make it a habit then you are crossing the line which is not good for your skin. During sleeping hours, your skin are supposed to regenerate and if you still got your make-up on this time, it might clog your pores which can cause you to breakout. Not only the make-up but also the other organisms that goes along with it that you encounter throughout the day. So, make sure you still have time and energy before going to sleep to remove all that make-up and bacteria on your face. Understand?

  1. Thanks for this. I've almost forgotten about dirty pillowcases, brushes and expired products. When we're very busy we tend to just go with the flow. Cleaning products out should be regularly scheduled.

  2. I agree. I have to admit that I'm guilty of sleeping with makeup on. I do that sometimes. And I really shouldn't. So I'll keep that in mind more often. The other tips are great as well. I should work on my stress level. I'll put on a mask this evening :).

  3. This is an awesome list that you've put together - they're all basic & simple yet they are the things that a lot of us tend to forget to do. I am guilty about sleeping with make-up on. There are times when I get home from work & I'm just so tired that I just want to sleep. Getting enough zzzz hours that I have been making a consciuos effort to do most especially when I hit my 30s.

  5. I am guilty of some of these! I know I should clean my makeup brushes more often. Sometimes it's hard because I travel so much. But this is a good reminder to me to have better habits.

  7. These are helpful tips, really. But sometimes, it's also in the hygiene and genes of the person. I learned something from your post, especially about the life of a make up.

  8. For pillow cases, we make sure to change once a week. However, I am lacking in the sleep department because I'm on a few weeks ahead before giving birth and baby is so strong every night that made me lack sleep. And this post reminded me to clean my brushes. Perhaps once I'm stable with baby after our 2 weeks bed rest, I would be able to do those.

  9. I'm guilty on most part, especially the lack of sleep and stress :( because I make sure that my brushes are clean, make up are not expired and I was my face before going to bed. But my skin still tends to break out. I believe it is more important to take care of the inside, I'll do my best to try and sleep earlier and longer. Thanks for sharing this! ;)

  10. Ugh. I am guilty of not cleaning my makeup brushes enough! I just find it so tedious and they take forever to dry! I think I need to pay more attention to them. ;)

  11. Some times I use my brushes still when they're not clean. It's not good. I wash my bed sheets every week so that's alright. Great tips against break outs!
