What you should not miss in Palma de Mallorca, Spain

Hey!

Wow, I didn't know how hard it was keeping the balance of blogging, vlogging, a full-time job, travelling, and loving yourself at the same time. That will be me at this moment. I have a lot to tell you actually but first, let us start with my Spain trip. My Mallorca trip was the most hassle (so far) of all my trip. It was a spontaneous decision to have a trip to Mallorca and I am exhilarated happy to visit it with one of my best buddy.

We were there last April, which is just in between the perfect timing of being in Mallorca. It was neither too cold nor too hot. The weather I think was between 16-28C. The trip started running to the airport to get into our flight. My buddy wasn't the best in preparation and I just went to the flow and didn't carefully plan everything. So, everything that should happen, happened. Only that 'thank God!' we did not miss our flight and the overall trip was awesome.

Here is how our first day went in Mallorca.

We stayed in a budget-friendly Hostal in S'Arenal. What I like about it was, it was just 5-10 minutes walk to the beachside. Based on some blogs that I've read, the place can be a little too noisy in the night time. But thankfully, everything went well for us. The stayed in our Hostal was a breeze. Plus I met their lovely cat.

During Summertime here in Germany, I can't help but be curious why Mallorca was one of the summer destinations of many Germans. Well, now at least I have an idea. Here is some recommendation of what to do in Palma for the first-timers like us.

WHAT YOU SHOULD NOT MISS WHEN VISITING PALMA DE MALLORCA

Try some seafood

We knew for sure of an old rule when we are visiting a new city or a country, try the 'specialties of the house'. Although it is not true to all my travels since I don't indulge much on food. We can't miss to eat seafood again in Spain. In some country not so near to the sea-side, it became a luxury to eat fresh catch fishes and other seafood. So, we grabbed the opportunity and it was worth it. Plus we really miss it that much.

SEAFOOD PAELLA

Another accidental food trial was their Tapa, it is Spanish cuisine served either hot or cold. It is a combination of a small portion of any Spanish cuisine for example olives, potatoes in sour cream, omelette, etc. It was eaten as a snack or appetizer.

We were actually thinking of 'Filipino version Tapa' and we were a bit hungry from exploring the city and every little restobars that we passed by served tapas and we were curious at the same time excited to eat not knowing it would be different from our expectation. But at least, we have tried and we now know what the Spanish tapa really was.

Visit Valldemossa and Sóller

Explore on nearby villages. It was an hour bus ride from Palma. If you are somewhat inclined to nature and you enjoy seeing an old charming village in the mountainside, it was worth to see. More on Valdemossa and Sóller on the next post.

or you can also watch my VLOG about Valldemossa.

Take a self-walk tour

Of course, if there is a real 'walking tour with a guide' that would be a lot better, but if you just want to chill out and take your time. Taking a stroll around the city is a good idea. Some historical places and destinations are around within reach by walking. You will not only see stunning stone old establishments but also blend into the vibe of the locals. There are nature parks, museums and marketplace in between that you could also visit.

You would want to check.
Catedral-Basílica de Santa María de Mallorca - a stunning cathedral on the sea-side.
Royal Palace of La Almudaina
Parc de la Mar
Plaza Mayor

Relax on a beachside

Enjoy the waters. Take a walk in a beach, ride a bike along the beachside, sit down and feel the breeze. Watch the sunset or even the sunrise. Jog along the beach. Swim. Chill under the sun. Even if you are not planning to go swimming, it was an instant offer when you go to Mallorca to visit the beachside. Anyway, you will not have a hard time to find one, some are just a walk away from where you stay.

Here are some of my best shots on the sea-side during our trip.

Let's talk again on my next blog.
Yes, YOU lovely gorgeous.

Love yourself because you are beautiful.
